“Your disk is almost full.”
You got the 256 GB model. It felt like plenty. Now you're deleting vacation photos just to install a macOS update.
Private beta · Opening in waves · For Mac
Vast is the Mac app that knows what your files actually are. Find anything by describing it, let Downloads tidy itself, and free up the gigabytes your Mac keeps eating. Nothing moves without your okay. Everything can be undone. Find any file by describing it. Tidy Downloads on autopilot. Free up gigabytes safely, with undo for everything.

Sound familiar?

Screenshot 2026-03-14 at 11.42.07.png. invoice (3).pdf. final_FINAL_v2.zip. You'll sort it out this weekend. (You won't. Nobody does.)
Your passport photo is right there. It's just called IMG_4821.HEIC. Spotlight searches names. You remember what things are.
It's not you. Your Mac just doesn't know what your files are. Vast does.
01 · Search
You don't remember file names. You remember “the lease I signed in May.” Vast reads what's inside your files (scanned PDFs, photos, screenshots, spreadsheets), so you can find files on your Mac just by describing them. Tap the Command key twice from any app and type.
AI file search that finds files by what they are, not what they're called. Right from the menu bar or the double-⌘ panel.

Example searches: tax PDFs from March, the photo of my passport, wifi password screenshot, receipts from the Lisbon trip.
02 · Tidy
Vast sorts files by what they are (invoices, screenshots, installers, photos) and organizes your Downloads folder and Desktop right where they live. You see the whole plan before anything moves. Like it? Apply. Change your mind next month? One click puts every file back.

Nothing here. Nice.
03 · Free up space
When your Mac storage is full, Vast quietly finds what's hogging the disk and tells you why each thing can go. You choose what leaves: to the Trash, or up to your encrypted cloud. Change your mind? It all comes back with one click.
Developers: yes, it finds the node_modules folders from projects you forgot existed. And DerivedData. Mostly DerivedData.

76% after cleanup
You can free up 47.1 GB
Your Downloads folder won't tidy itself. Unless you have Vast.
Get early access04 · Ask
“How much did I spend on electricity this year?” Vast finds the bills, does the math, and shows you exactly which files the answer came from. Ask it to pull a trip together or clean up an old project and it drafts a plan, then waits for your okay. It never acts on its own.

How much did I spend on electricity this year?
$1,284.60 across 9 bills, January to September. July was the peak at $212.40. AC season.
Put everything from the Lisbon trip in one folder.
Found 64 files: 51 photos, 6 bookings and boarding passes, 7 receipts. Plan: move them to Documents › Trips › Lisbon 2026.
Nothing moves until you say so.
Vast Cloud
For the stuff you don't need on your Mac but can't bear to lose. Vast Cloud shows up in Finder like any drive and is end-to-end encrypted on your Mac before a single byte leaves. We can't read your files. Or even their names.

Native
Built native for Apple silicon. Launches fast, sips memory, looks like it belongs. No Electron.
Activity
Activity lists everything Vast did, with an undo button next to each one.
iCloud
Vast leaves iCloud-only files alone and warns you before anything would vanish from your other devices.
How it works
Choose what Vast can see: Desktop, Documents, Downloads, whatever you like. Your files stay exactly where they are.
In the background, Vast learns what each file is: a receipt, a passport scan, a contract, a screenshot. To understand one, it sends only a text snippet or a small preview, and we never store it.
Tap the Command key twice to find anything, approve a tidy-up, clear some space. Undo is always one click away.
Privacy
Everything you put in Vast Cloud is encrypted on your Mac with a key only you hold. We can't see your files or their names. When Vast uses AI to understand a file, it sends only what's needed. We don't store it, and nothing is used for training.
Pricing
Search, tidy and free up space are free forever, with 300 AI file analyses a month included. Upgrade only if you want more AI and more cloud.

1 analysis = Vast understanding one file. Prices in USD. Pricing may change before launch; beta members hear first.
See full pricing →Never. Every tidy-up and cleanup starts as a plan you can review, and nothing happens until you approve it. Anything Vast does can be undone with one click from Activity. If you turn on auto-tidy for Downloads, those moves show up in Activity too, each with its own undo.
No. Vast understands and organizes files right where they are, on your Mac. Vast Cloud is optional, for things you want off your disk without deleting them.
Files in Vast Cloud are encrypted on your Mac with a key only you have, so we can't read them or their names. To understand a file, Vast sends only the text it needs (or a small preview) through our server to the AI model (Google Gemini, paid tier). We don't store or log it, and it's never used to train AI.
Spotlight is great at names and keywords. Vast understands meaning: it knows IMG_4821.HEIC is your passport and scan_0042.pdf is your lease. And Spotlight doesn't tidy your Desktop or tell you which 16.8 GB of video you'll never watch again.
It frees up space like one, minus the scare tactics. Vast shows why each file can go (duplicate, used installer, not opened in a year), lets you offload instead of delete, and keeps an undo for everything. It's also a search engine, an organizer and an assistant for your files.
Nothing stops working. Search by name and content, rule-based tidying and the free-space tools stay free. Vast spends your 300 monthly AI analyses on the files you've used or changed most recently; the rest wait for next month's allowance, or for an upgrade.
Yes, carefully. Vast leaves iCloud-only files alone and warns you when deleting something would remove it from all your devices.
